European Leagues: Players with 10+ goals and assists in Europe’s top five leagues this season

If it is football, it has to be Europe. There are far too many top-level leagues overflowing with international superstars to count. Numerous domestic leagues are highly competitive and extremely popular around the world. This massive popularity makes many footballers dream of crossing oceans to play in these countries. Some leagues on the continent are understandably more famous than others and they are namely Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

These top five European leagues are flooded with established international players, making the competition extremely fierce. Even in such difficult environments, there are players who can consistently perform at the highest level for their respective teams. These players will be examined in depth in this article. Let’s take a look at the players in the top five European leagues who have 10+ goals and 10+ assists this season.

Lionel Messi (13 goals & 13 assists)

It seems like there is nothing Lionel Messi could do wrong this season. The Argentine superstar was at his sensational best for his national team at the World Cup, helping them win the coveted trophy at the end of last year. He has maintained that high level for his club side Paris Saint-Germain. Messi has not only been able to find the back of the net consistently but has also been able to regularly create chances for his teammates. Overall, Messi has 13 goals and assists for PSG in Ligue 1 this season.

Neymar (13 goals & 11 assists)

Lionel Messi’s club teammate Neymar has also been in incredible form for Paris Saint-Germain this campaign. PSG’s front three of Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have caused nightmare to defenders in French top flight this season. Neymar – in particular – has impressed a lot of people with his consistently high level of performances. Just like Messi, Neymar has also been equally pivotal to PSG in the attacking third, with his goal scoring and goal creating abilities.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (12 goals & 12 assists)

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been in stellar form this season in Serie A. His impressive showings for Napoli have made him a transfer target for several European big clubs. However, the winger is already having a dream time at Napoli, as they are destined to end the season on a high. Napoli have a massive lead at the top of the Serie A table and are also in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. If Kvaratskhelia can maintain this level, then Napoli will undoubtedly finish the campaign on a high.

Bukayo Saka (12 goals & 10 assists)

A lot of credit has to be given to Bukayo Saka for Arsenal’s amazing run at the top of the Premier League table. The English winger has been in inspired form this season after managing to turn his tricks and skills into goals and assists. Predominantly playing on the right side of a front three, Saka’s versatility has been his biggest strength. He can cut inside or go outside and can score with both his feet. His ability to add end product to his game has made Saka a real force to be reckoned with.

Randal Kolo Muani (11 goals & 12 assists)

The French striker has been unstoppable in the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt this season. With incredible pace at his disposal, Kolo Muani makes it difficult for defenders to catch him. He is infamously known for missing the golden chance at the end of the World Cup final which France ultimately lost to Argentina on penalties. However, Kolo Muani has put that setback behind him and has been in stellar form for the German outfit this season. It’s no surprise that big clubs like Manchester United are interested in signing the striker in the near future.
