Jonathan Clauss, born on September 25, 1992, is a French professional footballer who plays as a right-back for both Marseille in Ligue 1 and the French national team. Jonathan Clauss was born in Troyes, Aube, on September 25, 1992. Clauss, a product of Strasbourg’s academy, he developed his skills in the lower tiers of French and German football. He eventually secured a contract with Quevilly-Rouen in Ligue 2 for the 2017–18 season. Clauss made his professional debut in a 3–2 match against Châteauroux on September 8, 2017, where he contributed an assist.

Clauss joined 2. Bundesliga team Arminia Bielefeld in August 2018 and in May 2020, reports from L’Equipe confirmed Clauss’s departure from Bielefeld upon the expiry of his contract. He then agreed to a three-year deal with Lens, a newly promoted Ligue 1 team. At 28, he made his debut in top-flight football. Early life

Born in Troyes, France, on September 25, 1992, Clauss began his football career at the academy of his hometown club, Strasbourg. However, despite investing a lot of time in his development there, he was released due to concerns about his physical stature. Clauss continued to pursue his passion for football, going through the lower divisions of French football and even exploring opportunities in Germany.
