Neeraj Chopra is the most successful Indian track and field athlete in the history of the sport. Neeraj instantaneously grabbed millions of followers when he claimed the men’s javelin title at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with a throw of 87.58 meters in the finals. The reigning Olympic champion’s best throw came at the Diamond League Stockholm league on June 30, 2022, which was a gigantic 89.94 m throw, just 0.06 m short of the 90 meter mark. In the same month, he had also registered an 89.30 meter throw at the Paavo Nurmi Games. While his 89.08 meter throw at the Diamond League 2022 Lausanne leg was his third-best throw. His fourth and fifth best javelin throws were at the World Athletics Championships 2022 and the Diamond League final.
