The 2022-23 Premier League season has been done and dusted. There were plenty of surprises and twists over the course of the campaign. A lot of unexpected finishes happened from top to bottom, with lesser-fancied sides finishing well above expectations. On the other hand, clubs that were backed to do well failed to live up to the level and dropped down considerably, some even got relegated.
Not many would have expected to see Leicester City and Southampton getting relegated, however, both teams were unable to find any sort of momentum, as they fell down to the second division. The battle for Europe was equally intriguing, with plenty of shocks along the way. It was the same at the top. For a good while, Arsenal were leading the Premier League table, only for Manchester City to leapfrog them in the business end of the season to win the title.
Which team has put the most crosses?
The club at the top of this list is Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s side have plenty of variations to their game, as they can score a goal from various avenues. The Reds can move the ball quickly from back to front with short intricate passes or long through balls to break down opposition defences. They can keep the possession and suffocate the opponents or go direct by putting plenty of balls into the box. Hence, it is not a surprise to see Liverpool at the top of this table with 799 crosses in the Premier League last season.
Second in the list is Fulham with 769 crosses. They had an impressive campaign last time out in their own regard. Not much was expected from Fulham at the start of the season, however, they surprised many with a top half finish. West Ham United wraped up top three with 768 crosses. The Hammers had a roller-coaster of a campaign. Even though they won the Europa Conference League title, West Ham struggled massively in the league before fighting off relegation fears.
Manchester City, Newcastle United not far off
Champions Manchester City and Newcastle United occupy the fourth and fifth spot in the table with 742 and 740 crosses respectively in the league last season. They both had reasons to be happy about how the campaign turned out to be. City won another league title under Pep Guardiola, while Newcastle secured an unlikely Champions League ticket.
