International Master Bibisara Assaubayeva is a Kazakhstani chess player and back-to-back Women’s Blitz Champion. One of the most promising young female players in chess, Assaubayeva became an international master in 2020. In 2021 and 2022, she won consecutive Women’s World Blitz Championships. She scored a commanding 14/17 to clinch the 2021 tournament with a round to spare, followed by a 13/17 to win the 2022 tournament in her home country.
Subsequently, she was awarded the title of Outstanding Female Chess Player of 2021 in Asia by FIDE. In the following year, she entered the Guinness World Records book in 2022. This was was at the back of her achievement as the youngest women’s World Blitz Chess Champion. It was a remarkable feat which she achieved in 2021. Later on she retained the title in the following year in 2022.
In the same year Bibisara showed her class to clinch the bronze medal at the Asian Games 2022. However, she failed to make significant dent in the international circuit since then. Early Career of Bibisara Assaubayeva
The talented Kazakh chess player Bibisara Assaubayeva began her humble beginnings in Chess at the young age of 4 when she was taught the game by her grandfather. Subsequently, she won her first city championship at the age of 6. In 2011 Bibisara was awarded the titltle of Woman FIDE Master at the age of 7. This came at the back of her stupendous performance at the World Youth Championships in Brazil.
Interestingly, Bibisara was also a talented artistic gymnast in her early part of her career. However, she chose to stick to her favourite sport of chess. In 2016 she moved with her family to Moscow and decided to switch her federation affiliation to Russia. During her time with the Russian Federation, Assaubayeva won many tournaments like the European Individual Championship as well winning the title of International Master. Subsequently, in 2019 she switched back her allegiance to the country she was born. Since then she has been a vital cog of the Kazakh chess setup.
