Martin set a career-best with 28 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a 113-104 win over the Bucks on December 8.

Martin’s contract was changed to a regular agreement by the Heat on February 15, 2022. During their first-round playoff series, the Heat played the Atlanta Hawks. On April 17, Martin made his postseason debut, scoring two points in a 115-91 Game 1 victory. The Heat advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals before being defeated in seven games by the Boston Celtics.

Martin re-signed with the Heat on a three-year, $20 million contract on July 6, 2022. Martin was ejected from a game against the Toronto Raptors on October 22, 2022, following an argument with Raptors center Christian Koloko.
