Lucas Vazquez, born on July 1, 1991, is a Spanish footballer who plays as a right-back for Real Madrid in La Liga. He started his career at Real Madrid and debuted for the first team in 2015 after a loan spell at Espanyol, where he also made his La Liga debut. Since rejoining Real Madrid in 2015, he has participated in over 200 matches and won 16 major trophies, including four Champions League titles and three La Liga titles. Vazquez also represented Spain in Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup.

Vazquez entered Real Madrid’s youth system in 2007 at 16 years old. He made his senior debut during the 2010–11 season with the C-team. In August 2014, Vazquez was loaned to RCD Espanyol in La Liga. In June the following year, he signed a permanent deal with Espanyol. However, Real Madrid exercised their buyback clause in June 2015, bringing Vazquez back to the club. Vazquez returned to Real Madrid in June 2015. He scored his first competitive goal for the club in December 2015 against Real Sociedad.
He signed a contract extension in October 2016 and again in June 2021, he signed a new three-year contract, tying him to Madrid until 2024. Vazquez didn’t represent Spain in youth levels. However, he was named in Vicente del Bosque’s provisional squad for UEFA Euro 2016 and made it to the final squad. He debuted in a friendly against Georgia and made an appearance in the Euro 2016 tournament. He was also included in Spain’s final squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, making his debut in the competition against Portugal.
