Is one-half of WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion injured? Know all about Asuka’s injury this past Friday night SmackDown

A current WWE champion has allegedly sustained an injury. Recently, the wrestling profession has not been kind to performers in terms of injury rates. Megastars like CM Punk have been forced to sit out, and one freshly wounded titleholder hopes to avoid the same fate. WWE is praying that the injury isn’t severe.

According to PWInsider, Asuka injured her knee on SmackDown this past Friday. The Damage CTRL member was at ringside for Bayley vs. Dakota Kai. But remained active in the ring for the DQ ending. Asuka was spotted hobbling inside the ring.

Reportedly, WWE removed Asuka from previous live events as a precaution. According to reports, tests have been conducted to establish if the Japanese legend’s ailment is temporary or would require a lengthy recuperation.

Asuka has been actively involved in a significant storyline leading up to WrestleMania this year. “The Empress of Tomorrow” and the rest of Damage CTRL turned against Bayley and have been attempting to prevent her from capturing IYO SKY’s WWE Women’s Championship at “The Showcase of the Immortals.” WWE is definitely hoping that Asuka will be available for the big payday at WrestleMania 40. It will take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Will Asuka be available at WrestleMania 40?

Asuka’s injury is currently being evaluated, and she has been temporarily removed from action as a precaution. Asuka’s departure from the WWE Women’s Tag Team division will definitely be felt, since she is one-half of the current champions. As of this writing, the Kabuki Warriors do not have a bout scheduled, although she was supposed to appear in Bayley and IYO Sky’s Women’s Title fight at some point during the event.

Asuka and Sane, as the Kabuki Warriors, are the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Despite their previous involvement with Damage CTRL, Asuka joined the group upon Sane’s reappearance. Bayley vs. IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship is a popular storyline at WrestleMania XL. The Kabuki Warriors successfully defended their belts against Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler on RAW, but controversially. Their collective team experience is unparalleled in the sector.
