Bulgaria vs Hungary: Euro Champ Qualifiers 2023/24 Live Stream, Form Guide, Head to Head, Schedule, Fixture and Probable Lineups

In Group G of Euro 2024 qualifying, the last-placed team Bulgaria is set to face the top-ranked Hungary on Thursday evening. Originally planned for Stadion Hristo Botev in Plovdiv, the venue was changed to the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia due to construction work, a decision criticized as “unsportsmanlike” by the Hungarian federation this week.

Entering their final two 2023 fixtures, Bulgaria has a new manager following the departure of Mladen Krstajic last month due to a nine-game winless streak. Krstajic’s last match ended in a 2-0 friendly loss to Albania, preceded by a disappointing home defeat to Lithuania in Euro 2024 qualifying, leaving Bulgaria at the bottom of Group G. Ilian Iliev, also the head coach of Cherno More Varna, takes over with a focus on implementing the right tactics to reverse Bulgaria’s fortunes. Despite being unable to qualify for Euro 2024, Bulgaria aims to finish the year positively and climb from the Group G bottom, currently below Lithuania, with two games remaining.

Hungary is on the verge of securing their third consecutive European Championships qualification, needing just one more point from their final two Group G matches. Marco Rossi’s team boasts a 10-game unbeaten streak, earning 14 points out of 18 to lead Group G, one point ahead of second-placed Serbia with a game in hand. In their recent matches, Hungary secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Serbia and rescued a 2-2 draw against Lithuania. Ranked 30th globally by FIFA, Hungary, confident in their success, previously defeated Bulgaria 3-0 in qualifying. With an impressive away record, having lost only one of their last 10 away games, Hungary aims to secure their spot in the upcoming tournament in Germany.
