The Street Skateboarding World Championships 2023 of the World Skateboarding Tour is set to take place at the Ariake Urban Sports Park in Tokyo, Japan, from December 10 to December 17, 2023. The prestigious event will see Brazil’s Rayssa Leal, the silver medalist from the Tokyo Olympics, defending her title in the women’s category. Leal will enter the championship with a recent win at the Street League Skateboarding’s Super Crown in Sao Paulo. However, on the men’s side, the competition will see a fresh winner with Aurelien Giraud, the defending champion, opting out of the championship for personal reasons.

A few of the other top contenders taking part in the Street Skateboarding World Championships 2023 are Nishiya Momiji, Horigome Yuto, and Nyjah Huston. The championship will kick off with open qualifiers for both men and women which will narrow down to the top 27 skaters who will progress to the quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals, these skaters will be joined by others who have pre-qualified based on their Olympic World Skate Rankings. The competition will then intensify as only 16 skaters will make it to the semi-finals, and ultimately just eight will fight for the top spots in the finals.
