The 2023 Men’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup is the 13th edition of the Men’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup. It is a biennial men’s under-21 field hockey world championship organized by the International Hockey Federation. This year’s edition is scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Malaysia National Hockey Stadium. A total of 16 teams are scheduled to take part in the Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2023. This includes hosts Malaysia who have qualified automatically and 15 other nations who qualified via the continental championships.
Friday will see Germany take on Egypt in the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2023. The German team is ranked second in the FIH World Junior Hockey rankings. On the other hand, the Egyptian team is ranked sixteenth in the FIH World Junior Hockey rankings. Both teams are entering this match on the back of thumping defeats in their last game. Heading into Friday’s match, it will be a crucial and must-win game for both teams especially for the Egyptians if they are to keep any hopes of progress further from the group stages. Germany had shown lots of promise in their opening game against South Africa where they defeated the Africans 5-3. On the other hand, Egypt languishes at the bottom of the pool after losing both of their opening matches against France (3-1) and South Africa (3-2). If Egypt are to gain any positive results, they are to reverse the odds against the Germans.
