Uzbekistan vs Thailand: Asian Cup 2023/24 Live Stream, Form Guide, Head to Head, Schedule, Fixture and Probable Lineups

Thailand has the opportunity to secure a historic spot in the Asian Cup quarter-finals by defeating Uzbekistan at Al Janoub Stadium Park on Tuesday. Uzbekistan, dubbed the White Wolves, secured second place in Group B with a 1-1 draw against Australia. Meanwhile, the War Elephants of Thailand settled for a goalless draw with Saudi Arabia, placing second in Group F behind them.

Uzbekistan has reached the Asian Cup knockout stage for the sixth consecutive time, staying unbeaten in the group stage for the first time since 2011. Under Srecko Katanec, they conceded just once in three games, their best defensive record since 2004. Despite strong group stage performances, Uzbekistan struggled in knockout matches, losing their opening fixtures in 2011 and 2015 without scoring. Lately, their defense has improved, conceding one goal or less in eight of nine competitive matches in the last four months. They’re on a 10-game unbeaten streak, showing resilience by coming back to win or draw from losing positions five times.

Thailand showcased impressive defensive displays in the group stage, remaining undefeated for the first time in the tournament’s history. Alongside Iran, they were the only team not to concede a goal, accumulating five points, their highest in any Asian Cup group stage. Under Masatada Ishii, they’ve made significant progress from their pre-tournament form, where they struggled, winning only one of their last four matches and conceding 17 goals. Although they narrowly missed the knockout stage four years ago, Thailand has a strong record in opening knockout matches, winning five of their last six, albeit in the ASEAN Football Federation Championship.
