Singapore vs China: World Cup Qualifying – Asia Live Stream, Form Guide, Head to Head, Schedule, Fixture and Probable Lineups

On Thursday, Singapore will host China at the National Stadium in Kallang for the third round of Asian World Cup Qualifying second-round matches. Singapore are seeking their first points in the group stage, while their opponents are trailing behind second-placed Thailand only on goal difference. In the knockout round, Singapore faced Guam with a spot in the qualifying group at stake. They advanced with a 3-1 aggregate victory, winning 2-1 at home and 1-0 away. Their second-round campaign started with a challenging away fixture against South Korea in November, where they suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat. Most recently, they hosted Thailand and lost 3-1.

After missing out on the AFC Asian Cup earlier in the year, Singapore will kick off their 2024 campaign aiming to level points with their visitors by securing their first win of the qualifying campaign. China, on the other hand, will aim to go into the top two in the group on Thursday. They earned three points from their first two matches. Seeking their first World Cup appearance since 2002, China began the second-round group with an away win against Thailand in November, coming from behind to secure a 2-1 victory. They then hosted South Korea but couldn’t secure consecutive wins, as Son Heung-min scored twice for the visitors, with Jung Seung-hyun adding a third late in the game.

Coming back to action after an unsuccessful AFC Asian Cup campaign, where they failed to win a game and exited the group stage, China now focuses on World Cup Qualifying under new management, with Branko Ivankovic taking over from Aleksandar Jankovic in February. They are eager to start their new era with a win to move into the top two spots for third-round qualification with three games remaining.
