EPL stats: Which clubs have scored the most goals in Premier League era?

It goes without saying that Premier League is one of the most popular leagues among global football fans. What separates the league from the rest is its competitive nature. Due to the massive TV revenue, English top flight clubs are able to build strong squads all over the pitch. This instantly improves the competitive level of the league, making every match a challenge. There are no easy games in the division.

Be it against the table toppers or the bottom half sides, every team must give their 100% effort to have a chance of winning the match. This difficulty level makes it an exciting watch for the supporters since any side is capable of upsetting the established order on a given day. There are some clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and lately Manchester City have enjoyed good amount of success. However, it did not come easy for any of them.

Which club has scored the most goals in Premier League history?

The team at the top of this list is unsurprisingly Manchester United. No club has enjoyed success as much as the Red Devils in the Manchester United era. That is largely thanks to Sir Alex Ferguson. Under Ferguson, United were almost unstoppable in the league. They would either win the Premier League title or would be heavily involved in the title race. So much was the level of success even second place was considered as a disappointment. Overall, Man United scored 2,243 goals in the EPL history.

Second in the list is Arsenal with 2,105 goals. Like Man United, most of Arsenal’s success in the Premier League must be attributed to one guy – Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman has often been credited for revolutionising the league with his attractive-brand of football, something which was not prevalent much before his arrival. Liverpool is placed third with 2,096 goals. The Reds have struggled for large parts in the division to reach their historic heights. However, things have changed ever since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp as the club’s manager.

Chelsea are placed fourth

Chelsea are another team that enjoyed good amount of success over the last couple of decades in the division. Jose Mourinho started their successful journey before other managers entered the frame. Overall, the Blues have scored 2,011 goals in the Premier League era.
