The Indiana Pacers are on the road, traveling to Las Vegas to face the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday afternoon. Indiana advanced to the semifinals by defeating Boston 122-112 at home on Monday night. Milwaukee defeated New York 146-122 at home Tuesday night in the quarterfinals. The Bucks lead the all-time regular season series between the clubs 114-93, although the Pacers captured the first meeting this season, winning 126-124 at home on November 9.

Indiana defeated Boston in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup mid-season event Monday night at home, their second straight victory. The Pacers moved to 11-8 on the season and were tied for second place in the Central Division, three games behind the Bucks. Indiana trailed Boston by two after the first quarter and by three with 3:29 left in the first half before letting up a 12-2 run to trail by seven at the break. The Pacers outscored the Celtics 37-23 in the third quarter to grab a seven-point lead after three periods.

With the game knotted at 105 with 1:57 remaining, Indiana scored the next nine points to lead 114-105 with 44.1 seconds remaining. To counterbalance a 56-41 loss on the glass, the Pacers scored 45.7% from the field, including 19 of 40 from three-point range, and forced 17 turnovers. Tyrese Haliburton had his first career triple-double in the victory, tallying 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists.

Milwaukee are on their winning ways

Milwaukee pounded a Knicks squad that began Tuesday leading the NBA in scoring defense to advance to the semifinals. The Bucks climbed to 15-6 on the season and held a three-game lead over the Pacers in the Central Division entering Wednesday. Milwaukee led New York by two after the first quarter and by three at the half before beginning the second half with an 18-6 run that had them up 93-78 with seven minutes left in the third quarter. The Bucks didn’t let the Knicks get any closer than nine points the rest of the way, rolling in the second half.

Milwaukee scored 60.4% from the floor, including a scorching 23 of 38 from three-point range, and forced 16 turnovers from the Knicks. In the victory, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 35 points, eight rebounds, and ten assists.
