Lonnie Walker stats: What are his numbers with Los Angeles Lakers?

Lonnie Walker stats: Lonnie Walker IV spent five seasons with the Spurs and Lakers. In 264 regular-season games, he averaged 9.9 points and 2.3 rebounds. He was crowned Mr. Pennsylvania Basketball in high school and was a McDonald’s All-American. Walker was a Miami Hurricanes basketball player in college. After being chosen to the ACC’s all-freshman team, he was picked by the San Antonio Spurs as the 18th overall choice in the first round of the 2018 NBA draughts. He spent four seasons with the Spurs before joining the Lakers.

Walker went to Reading Senior High School in Pennsylvania. Walker made his varsity basketball debut as a freshman and averaged eight points per game in 27 games, then subsequently as a sophomore he averaged 16.9 points per game in a short season due to injury. As a junior, he averaged 17.1 points per game in 29 games.

Walker was selected as a McDonald’s All-American and Mr. Pennsylvania Basketball his senior year. He averaged a career-high 18.4 points per game and broke Reading High alumni and former NBA player Donyell Marshall’s school record with 1,828 points scored. Walker led Reading Senior High School to its first state title in the program’s 117-year existence on March 25, 2017, with a 64-60 victory over the Pine-Richland Rams. Walker had 22 points, eight rebounds, four steals, and three assists in the contest. Walker joined with the Miami Hurricanes for the season after turning down scholarship offers from Villanova, Kentucky, Syracuse, and Arizona.

Walker made his college debut with the Miami Hurricanes on November 10, 2017, scoring 10 points and dishing out a season-high five assists off the bench in a 77-45 rout of Gardner-Webb University. On December 2, he set new highs of 12 points and 5 rebounds in an 80-52 rout of Princeton University, before posting season highs of 26 points and 7 rebounds in his first collegiate start three days later in a 69-54 win against Boston University.

He had a game-high 25 points against Louisville, including an acrobatic basket in traffic to force OT. He scored a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining in a 79-78 win over Boston College. Walker averaged 11.5 points per game as a rookie and was chosen to the ACC all-freshman team. Walker declared for the NBA draft after his single season with Miami ended.

Walker signed a one-year, $6.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on July 6, 2022. He started all 32 games of the 2022-23 season until being injured with knee inflammation in late December. He was averaging 14.7 points in 29.8 minutes per game at the time, shooting 45.5% from the field and 38.9% from 3-point range. After LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, he appeared to be the Lakers’ leading scorer. Walker returned to the court after missing 14 games due to the development of Austin Reaves, especially after the Lakers acquired D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Jarrett Vanderbilt, and Rui Hachimura before the trade deadline.

Walker returned to the rotation after playing just under 28 minutes in the first eight games of the 2023 playoffs, scoring 12 points in 25 minutes in a 127-97 win over Golden State, giving the Lakers a 2-1 series lead in the conference semifinals. He scored all 15 of his points in the fourth quarter of Game 4 to help the Lakers overcome a seven-point deficit and win 104-101.
