She grabbed a national championship title in Vishakhapatnam in November 2015. On April 28, 2016, she claimed double wins in both the under-15 and under-17 singles at the PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship Season 2 National Finals.

That same year, Aakarshi moved to Bengaluru to practice at the prestigious Prakash Padukone Academy. While there, she lived with her mom in lodgings provided by Olympic Gold Quest, an organization supporting athletes. She racked up wins in both under-17 and under-19 singles at the 25th Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament on October 16, 2016. In 2020, she kicked off practice at the Suchitra Badminton Academy in Hyderabad and nabbed the ladies’ singles title in Kenya. This win was part of the BWF Future Series. In December 2021, she defended her All India Ranking tournament title, winning against qualifier Tanya Hemanth. The following year, she earned her place on the Uber Cup team by beating Ashmitia Chaliha in the BAI selection trials, qualifying for the Asian and Commonwealth Games in both individual and team categories.
