On December 12, 1998, Tejaswin Shankar was born into a Tamil household. Blood cancer claimed the life of his father Harishankar when he was quite young. Fast bowler Shankar, blessed with height and velocity, appeared to be on track to achieve his cricketing goals up until the seventh grade. However, the child’s large stature quickly turned out to be a double-edged sword as it started to negatively impact his athleticism.Initially, Tejaswin Shankar was not a skilled high jumper. He attempted the 400 meters first, and then he also gave the triple jump a shot. But he started to see some success in the sport of high jumping. Tejaswin Shankar decided to pursue my high jump career after he began to succeed and get better. He started to become less interested in cricket and more focused on athletics over time. Tejaswin Shankar feels that switching to the high jump was a “happy accident” for his career because it allowed him to realize he had a hidden ability for the sport. He quickly rose to the top of the Indian athlete rankings in the field.
